If her spirit was the drive responsible for guiding her career, Crystal Nicole would have long ago been an international superstar. Blessed with an uncanny ability to compose award winning music, her track record as a songwriter is nothing short of iconic – writing for artists such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Monica, Natasha Bedingfield, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Lopez, among others.
As impressive as her discography reads, success was no easy reward. Growing up in a household of domestic violence, Crystal was no stranger to humble beginnings. After her father shot her mother three times and the police shooting and killing him, the family she once knew became a distance memory. Music soon became an escape for Crystal.
Though her ultimate goal has always been to record and release her own album. After being told she was "too dark, too big," and just all around Not Enough, Crystal Nicole set out on a mission to breathe life into other artists’ albums, plunging head first into the songwriting pool in 2007. Before long, the Grammy Award winning I Am Sasha Fierce (Beyoncé), E=MC2 (Mariah Carey) and Still Standing (Monica), were among the albums she helped shape with her ASCAP approved pen, coincidentally warranting praise as one of today’s industry A list top liners.
For her trouble, Crystal earned her place among the industry’s most illustrious songwriters; winning five ASCAP Music Awards and contributing to four Grammy nominated projects, and also writing Rihanna’s Grammy Award winning Best Dance Record of the Year, “Only Girl in the World.”
As Crystal's career continued to rise to new heights, her personal life began to take a turn for the worse. After marrying her high school sweetheart, success became too much for the singing lovebirds. Divorce became the topic of discussion daily. Once again, the idea of a real family became but an illusion to Crystal as it did when she was a child.
Realizing that the hole in her heart wasn't being filled with all the things she had accomplished, she turned to the only one who never left her.. Jesus. Crystal decided that what she needed, all the number one records in the world couldn't buy. She needed saving from herself. After living across the country from everything and everyone that mattered in her life, her faith lead her home to her husband only to find that he too was lost. Once again they found themselves in each other and recommitted their marriage to God.
Now, wife, songwriter, recording artist and aspiring actress Crystal Nicole is finally complete. Having found the true balance in her life she is now ready to continue the climb up the charts as the CEO of House of Pompey Entertainment (H.O.P.E.) hoping to not only pour music into young aspiring artist, but wisdom about the ups and downs of success as well.
"I've been successful... And I am truly thankful for that, but Now it's time to be significant"
